Congregational Forum and Congregational Meeting
Letter from the Moderator: Margaret Baldwin
Thanks to all who participated in the months’ long dialogue about post-pandemic church worship at First Congregational UCC, and to those who showed up to vote at the meeting on June 27. The vote was 57-4 in favor of launching a three-month trial period to experiment with three different models of worship in our building, beginning in September. Click here to review the proposal.
For the summer months there will be opportunities for regular worship in the sanctuary as well as on zoom. Here is a reminder of the schedule.
July 11- First Sunday Back- regular worship at 10:30 followed by light snacks in Fellowship Hall
July 18, 25, August 1- regular zoom church at 10:30. No in-person worship
August 8- Second Sunday in-person in the sanctuary at 10:30 with potluck following
August 15,22,29 and Sept 5- in-person worship in sanctuary at 10:30, zoom service at 9:00 am, with prerecorded music. Fellowship Hour following worship.
September 12 - Beginning of Proposal Trial Period. In-person worship in the sanctuary, Art&Soul Café in the Fellowship Hall, Contemplative Service in the sanctuary, all happening on Sunday morning. Times for those services TBA.
September 12 - Art and Soul Fest begins at 1:00 pm.
Sept 19 - November 28 (these dates not set it stone yet- not quite 3 mos)
Congregational Meeting in December to vote on whether we want to keep going with the proposed worship plan. This is not the Annual Meeting, which will be in January, 2022 to vote on budget, elections.
