Our faith community gathers in weekly congregational worship on Sunday mornings at 10:30 in our Church, located on the corner of SW Park and Madison in downtown Portland. Visiting for the first time? Learn more about what to expect.
Communion is observed on the first Sunday of each month. Ours is an open table: all are invited to share in this sacrament in which we are reminded of the sacred power of sharing in community with one another.
Children and Youth
We enthusiastically welcome all ages into worship. Activity bags and coloring pages are available near the usher's table at the back of the sanctuary. Worship includes a short "Time with the Children," after which children and youth may follow a teacher downstairs to our classrooms for a sacred story and creative response time. Children are also welcome to stay with their family during worship, so choose what works best for your family!
Immediately following worship, we gather downstairs to enjoy a cup of coffee, homemade food prepared by members of our community, and conversation.
Spiritual community doesn't just happen on Sunday! Small groups are essential to our church life at First Congregational UCC. By participating in groups based on a common interest, concern or experience, we form closer bonds with each other and listen for the movement of the Holy in our lives. Visit our Community Core Ministries page to learn more about the groups currently in session. Contact our Core Ministry facilitators if you would like to lead a new group.
